Andros Crab Catchers

The artist is from the beautiful island of Andros in the Bahamas. In this painting she wanted to display a part of a tradition that all islanders take part in during the month of June. The crabs starts to walk and many islander will wait until it's night to begin catching crab by the sack full. As a part of Bahamian culture, many speciality dishes are made from crab only once a year during this season
